„THE BACK PACK … Best backing sound outta Stuttgart!“ 2009 werden die alten Pläne, eine klassische Backing Band auf die Beine zu stellen, endlich verwirklicht und die fünf Jungs aus Stuttgart machen sich auf die Reise, um Artists aus aller Welt den traditionellen Live-Band-Charakter auf die Bühne zu bringen. Die Route steht für „The Back Pack“ fest, dabei ist das bei Weitem keine Jungfernfahrt, so haben sich die Backpacker bereits in diversen Reggae- und Hip-Hop-Formationen wie „Los Skalameros“ oder „Triade“ ihre Sporen verdient. Ihre Pfade führten sie durch viele Festivals, Clubgigs und Studios und mit zwei Gitarren, Keys, Bass und Drums ist der Rucksack prall gefüllt und für jeden Track gewappnet – egal, ob aus der großen Auswahl an Standard-Riddims oder eigenen Songs des Artists. Der Trip soll aber auch Neuland erschließen – so hat sich schon bei den ersten Exkursionen im Proberaum gezeigt, dass die Ideen für neue Riddims nur so sprudeln. Also wer ist dabei mit „The Back Pack“ eine Expedition zu starten? Wir sind bereit!

In the beginning of 2009 five friends from Stuttgart finally get together to form what they’ve been longing for and what you’ve been looking for all these years: A classical reggae backing band. Being available for those who can’t bring along or simply don’t have their own live band. They started this jurney to support artists no matter where and no matter when. Remarkable about this bunch is, that they are not just a random selection of professional musicians but on top of that close friends, so that good vibes are guaranteed onstage as well as backstage. „The Back Pack“ have charted their course and they are not heading out there for the first time. These backpackers have earned their spurs at Europe’s largest Reggae festivals like the Rototom Sunsplash in Italy, the Summerjam in Cologne, Chiemsee Reggae Summer or by supporting Jimmy Cliff on the „Big Weekend“ in Wales, playing with reggae, ska, funk and soul formations like Los Skalameros and Triade. Apart from a large repertoire of standard-riddims and other reggae classics, their first journeys into the rehearsal room made them discover virgin soil, by creating and producing new riddims to make these newly discovered „sound-islands“ available for all of those who would like to settle down with their lyrics. So who wants to use The Back Pack on an excursion? We are more than ready!
